How long should I water?
Adjust your irrigation timer monthly. Gradually build up to the peak irrigation need of approximately 1.5 inches of water per week in July and August, or 1/2 inch per day when watering 3 times per week. Then, gradually decrease the irrigation amount each month until winter.
How long do I water to apply 1/2 inches of water?
This depends on your sprinkler heads and pressures. A good rule of thumb is:
20 minutes for pop up heads.
40 minutes for rotating heads.
