Accepted Materials

HHW Materials
Materials accepted are any household materials that are:
  • Flammable
  • Toxic
  • Poisonous
  • Corrosive

Examples of these items include:
  • Pesticides and herbicides
  • Toxics and poisons
  • Used motor oil and antifreeze
  • Auto and other batteries
  • Fuels, solvents, and other flammables
  • Cleaners and corrosive materials
  • Oil-based paints (15 Gallons or less)

If these items are thrown away, they pose a threat to the groundwater when placed in the landfill and to sanitation workers when collecting the garbage that contains any HHW materials.

Materials Not Accepted
  • Latex paint
  • E-waste ( Monday-Friday Only) 
  • Friable asbestos (non-friable accepted at Landfill)
  • Compressed gas cylinders
  • Explosives
  • Radio active material
  • Medical and biological waste 
  • Wastes generated outside Laramie County

Disposal Fee
For home residences, materials are accepted free of charge up to 220 lbs.

For businesses, a fee will be charged depending on the materials.

The Household Hazardous Waste facility will only accept conditionally exempt small quantity generators.  (SQG)
